All-on-6 Dental Implants in Antalya, Turkey

How All-on-6 compares to All-on-4, who it suits, and what the process looks like from CT scan to final bridge.

All-on-6 is the treatment we recommend most often when a patient wants the fixed, full-arch result of implant dentistry with an extra margin of long-term stability beyond what All-on-4 offers. If you have been comparing All-on-4 and All-on-6 and are not sure which applies to you, this guide explains how we make that decision at SDS Dental in Antalya, starting with how much bone you have.

All-on-6 replaces a full arch of missing or failing teeth using six dental implants rather than four. The additional two implants, positioned strategically across the arch, distribute bite force more evenly and provide additional support. That is why we choose All-on-6 whenever the bone allows it.

As with All-on-4, a fixed temporary bridge is typically attached on the same day as surgery, so you are never without teeth during healing. The final bridge, usually milled in zirconium, is fitted once the six implants have fully integrated with the bone.

We recommend All-on-6 whenever there is enough bone for six implants, in the upper or the lower jaw. It is also a common choice for patients who have had implants fail previously and want additional support built into the new plan from the outset.

Your doctor determines suitability from your X-rays and, when needed, a CBCT scan measuring bone height, width and density at each of the six planned implant positions. If bone volume does not comfortably support six implants, All-on-4 or, in cases of more significant bone loss, zygomatic implants may be the more appropriate route.

A few concrete scenarios where All-on-6 tends to come up in consultation: patients who grind their teeth heavily and want extra long-term reserve built into the foundation, and patients who have experienced a failed implant before and want additional support engineered into the new plan from the start. None of these are strict rules; they are simply the situations where All-on-6 is discussed most often, always confirmed against your own scan rather than assumed.

In short, both techniques achieve the same core outcome, a fixed, non-removable full arch of teeth, and the difference lies in implant number and the margin of support that comes with it. All-on-4 is leaner, generally faster to place, and often the more cost-effective option. All-on-6 adds two implants for extra load distribution, which can translate into a slightly stronger long-term foundation, particularly for patients who grind their teeth, have a strong natural bite, or simply want the additional reserve capacity.

Neither technique is universally "better". The right choice depends on your bone volume, your bite force and your own priorities around cost versus maximum long-term support. This is the conversation your doctor will have with you once your CT scan is reviewed, rather than defaulting to one technique regardless of the case. You can read the other side of the comparison in our All-on-4 guide, and if you have been told you lack bone in the upper jaw, our zygomatic implants guide explains the graft-free option.

At SDS Dental we don't decide by jaw. The rule is simple: if your bone allows six implants, we recommend All-on-6, because the load is shared by more implants. If the bone volume is not enough for six, All-on-4 is the better choice, because its angled implants make good use of the bone that remains, often without grafting.

This applies equally to the upper and lower jaw. Your doctor assesses the bone in each jaw separately and explains which option fits and why, so if your two jaws receive different treatments, you will know the reason.

"More implants always means a better result." Not necessarily. All-on-6 is not automatically superior to All-on-4, it simply distributes load across two additional points. Where bone comfortably supports either technique, the clinical outcome for daily eating, speaking and appearance is very similar; the difference is more about long-term reserve capacity than everyday function.

"All-on-6 takes much longer to heal." The osseointegration timeline, typically three to six months, is essentially the same for All-on-4 and All-on-6. What differs is the surgery itself, which takes somewhat longer to place six implants accurately rather than four.

"If I was told I need All-on-4, I can't upgrade to All-on-6." This is rarely true in practice. If your bone volume supports it, your surgeon can absolutely recommend All-on-6 instead. The decision is made from your CT scan, not fixed in advance.

Planning

When needed, a CBCT scan maps bone at all six planned implant positions. Your surgeon plans exact placement and angulation in three dimensions before surgery day.

Surgery

All-on-6 surgery is performed under local anaesthesia, or under sedation or general anaesthesia if you prefer and it is medically suitable, and typically takes three to five hours depending on complexity. A fixed temporary bridge is attached the same day or shortly after.

Healing and Final Bridge

Osseointegration takes roughly three to six months. Once confirmed, your final zirconium bridge is fitted, custom shaded and shaped for your face.

SDS Dental places All-on-6 cases using Straumann, Neodent and Medentika implant systems, with final bridges milled in zirconium for strength and a natural, light-transmitting finish. These are the same systems used by leading clinics across the UK and Europe, backed by long-term published survival data.

  • Mild swelling and discomfort for the first 48-72 hours, managed with medication
  • Soft foods for the first 2-3 weeks while implants begin to integrate
  • Gentle hygiene around the bridge from day one, using tools we provide
  • Written aftercare plan and direct WhatsApp contact with your doctor after you fly home
Most patients are comfortable flying home within 7 to 10 days of All-on-6 surgery, returning later for a shorter visit to fit the final bridge.

All-on-6 typically costs somewhat more than All-on-4 due to the additional implants, but remains 40 to 70% lower in Antalya, Turkey than equivalent treatment in the UK, Ireland or Germany. Our all-inclusive All-on-6 package is £7,490 for both jaws: 6 implants per jaw, 24 fixed zirconium teeth, your hotel stay, airport pick-up and a night guard, over two trips of 3 to 4 days. Your price is confirmed in writing before you travel.

All-on-6 planning requires the same surgical precision as All-on-4, applied across two additional implant positions, meaning even less room for error in angle and placement. Every All-on-6 case at SDS Dental is planned and placed by Dr. Seçil, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with an academic background in implantology, who also completes the prosthetic side personally. As a boutique clinic in Konyaaltı, Antalya, your case is never split between a surgical team and a separate prosthetic dentist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Neither is universally better: All-on-6 adds two implants for extra load distribution and stability, while All-on-4 is leaner and often more cost-effective. The right choice depends mainly on your bone volume: if the bone allows it, we recommend All-on-6.

Surgery typically takes somewhat longer due to the additional implants, but the overall healing timeline, three to six months to the final bridge, is similar to All-on-4.

Yes, your doctor will review your CT scan and can recommend the more suitable technique before any surgery is booked.

Generally yes, due to the two additional implants, though it remains significantly less expensive in Turkey than either technique performed in the UK or Germany.
